The end of the year is going to be full of news and that’s good news!
We start with something that was particularly close to my heart: the provenance of the leathers I use.
Most of the leathers I use come from French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese tanneries. In absolute terms it is not really annoying because these tanneries provide good leathers, quality, and therefore respond to what I expect for my products. Environmental standards are very high in Europe, and even more so in France, so, again, nothing to complain about. In addition I use almost systematically leather with vegetable tanning, just to push the nail.
The little problem that bothered me was that these European leathers go a long way before arriving in the workshop, and that while we do, since we have very good leathers in France, why go and get them elsewhere?
For the price, pardi!
And yes, these leathers of French tanners have a cost, which is not always easy to integrate into items that I want to offer at a price that remains affordable for most purses.
The cases for Opinel, in their two-tone version, were already 90% French-made, I was happy, but now it’s even better! The black versions are now 100% French. Yes, yes, 100%.
And as good news never comes alone: it’s not just about the cases for Opinel, but almost all the black cases, and everything that comes out of the workshop in black leather.
Leather, linen thread, and of course shaping, are 100% French.
Not“100% French but in fact there is only the last transformation operation that is done in France”. All of these items and the materials that make them up are entirely made in France.
And since I created all my articles, I can even add that the design is also French (when I tell you 100%!).
Maybe some people will say to me:“Well put a little French flag, it will look nice and you can show that it’s French”.
So now I’m saying no! This flag is too abused, and frankly, I don’t need it.
So yes, I may miss sales because there is no this damn flag, but I prefer that my items stay as they are. For the quality and origin of the materials, I like to base myself on the feedback of customers who have already trusted me(small excerpts here).
Finally, you will understand, this is just one more step in the life of the workshop, the idea being to be able to offer more and more 100% items designed, made and derived from 100% French materials.
